Dear Pukkalla

1)For washing bathing and drinking, chemical qualities are very good. Only problem is high total suspended solids ,30 ppm. So removal of suspended particles is must. TSS also brings microorganisms in water so your water should be disinfected.

2)Dear Baburao: many tests are not done importantly iron content (will turn white clothes rusted yellow if more than 1 ppm), nitrate, alkalinity etc. however as per test report all parameters are quite ok.

3) high TSS and MPN count(bacteria)

4)Install UV treatment and simple filtration. Choose filter size to trap TSS easily.

Dear Mr. Baburao,

Please check the Microbial parameters like Aerobic bacterial count and presence of coliform to ensure whether water is bacteriological y safe. The TSS may be high due to the soil strata.

We will like to recommend you to refer BIS standard for Drinking water and carry out the minimum tests like pH, Alkalinity, Turbidity, Total dissolved solids, Calcium, magnesium, Chlorides, Fluorides, Nitrate & Iron. Besides the Microbial tests are must.

You may continue to use water for washing and cleaning.

Dear Babu Rao ji,

as per the test report attached the answers are;

1. The tests conducted are not sufficient to declare the water fit for drinking and cooking.However it can be used for washing.

2. As per report the Sodium and TSS content is on higher side. There are no limits fixed by Bureau of Indian Standards for drinking water as far as these parameters are concerned. However the advisory limit of Sodium fixed by U.S.E.P.A. is 20mg/l.

Normally the borewell waters are deficient in Sodium and TSS. Kindly reconfirm the results from your laboratory.

3. As explained these two parameters are more than acceptable limits.

4. As your water is very low in Dissolved Solids, R.O. treatment is not recommended. You should go for a simple filter which can reduce TSS levels.
