Salinity Range 0.6 - 0.9% - Reverse Osmosis Suitable?

Iam getting water from my well having salinity ranging from 0.6 to 0.9 %. Is the commerciably available RO system sufficient to purify this to drinking water? Or if not what other method should I seek out to reduce the salinity levels to that suited for potable purposes.

Dear Shaji,

Commercial RO for household may not be able to treat the levels of salinity beyond 3500 mg/l. Your's ranges in 6000-9000 mg/l. Try to ask the manufacturer to use a specific membrane and provide you with a RO plant that can take this salinity. They shall be able to do so.

Dear Shaji,

Unfortunately, just an indication of salinity alone is not enough information for me to be able to give my expert opinion. For this I need to see a total test report which gives all the mineral constituents in the water. All I can say is that RO can handle the salinity, but whether RO water after treatment will be suitable for drinking I can only indicate after seeing a full test report.
