Dear Jagadheeswaran,

Integrated Geo Instruments & Services (P) Limited, H.No. 12-13-382, Street No. 18, Tarnaka, Hyderabad-500017 (Tel: 040-27018456, 040-27005810; Mobile: 094400-48410; Email: igisindia@yahoo.com; info@igisindia.com) is the best company that manufactures low-cost to high-cost high quality electrical resistivity meters in India. The webpage at http://www.igisindia.com/pdf/IGIS%20Product%20List%2030-4-2007.pdf gives the product list of the company.

If you can afford, you can buy SSP-MP-AT-ME multi electrode resistivity meter to scan the subsurface formations using the "Resistivity Scanning Technique" with utmost accuracy. You can also get your staff trained in the usage of the equipment and interpretation of data by the inverse slope method devised by Dr.K.R. Ramanuja Chary, a former scientist of the National Geophysical Research Institute, Hyderabad, who founded the company.

Good luck with your work.

Dear Sir,

I have been using very basic model of DDR2 since 1981 made by one of the good company based in Hyderabad. By adding power pack I could successfully locate water yielding fracture even from a depth of 1250 feet in hard rock terrains of Coimbatore and Tirupur area and as well from the sedimendary zones to the same depth from the coastal zone from Cudalore down to Ramanathapuram in Tamil Nasu, medium depth zone regions of Karnataka, Telenkana, Rahyalaseema and Hyderabad region successfully. In my experience, The D.C. meter coupled with porous pot potential electode was found to be goon even today.

Now many time advanced instrumentation and system processing has been introduced by the same manufactures and hence I would recommended the same for your case. His details are provided below.

Dear Jagadheeswaran.E.S,

I can understand the way of thinking-You feel that if you get a good Resistivity Meter you will automatically have a good successes rate.

It will be really disappointing for you but for getting good results, one needs to have a real through knowledge of local geology and also have proper experience in interpreting the geophysical data.

In Pune there are two companies ENVIC systems and MINITRONICS, both manufacture Earth resistivity meters, fairly good but both have some drawbacks.

But the limitations for these equipment is not due to the fulty design but it is inherent to the type of resistivity survey that is being carried out.
ENVIC systems manufacturers DC meters with square array where as MINITRONICS manufactures AC meters.

What is more important is the person who carries out the survey and the interpretation of the field data.

The same data may be interpreted differently, it is a know fact that the same data can be interpreted as a 4 layer model or a 20 layer model. If you are not able to interpret the data properly, regardless to the machine you use the success rate will not be good.

If you require more information as to the methodology of conducting proper integrated surveys involving geological, hydro geological and Geophysical surveys in connection to well site selection you can get in touch with us.

We may also be able to provide you with the necessary technical Manpower and assistance in this regards.

Dear Jagadheeswaran.E.S,

I am using earth resistivity meter (CRM 500) manufactured by Anvic Systems, pune from last 10 years and getting wonderful results in field. i would suggest you to go with the Earth Resistivity Meter of ANVIC SYSTEMS. The instrument is very durable and give very accurate results. It also does not need much servicing or maintenance and also very easy to operate.

6. where can i get this

where can i get this resistivity meter. i wd like tp purchase one.

8. Looking for ground resistivity meter for borehole siting

Hi,

I am looking for a ground resistivity meter for borehole siting which is able to detect water levels beyond 100metres

9. We do geological interpretation & quantifying strata in 3D

We do 3D Geo Modelling for Geological interpretations & quantify strata from the results of tomography. Accurate positioning of borelogs or reports from ERT can be well interpreted to understand the strata for further planning of the mine on a timeline. The visualization in 3D images gives a clear understanding of the surfaces. Very effective & cost saving tool.
